Malindo Air has received the International Air Transport Association (IATA) membership certificate.

Prior to attaining this membership, Malindo Air had been certified by the IATA Operational Safety Audit, an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control system of an airline, it said in a statement today.

Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said Malindo Air would create better values and achieve more by being an IATA member.

"We have continued to set ourselves at par with the international aviation standard, and we hope to raise the bar collectively with our partners in the industry," he said.

With the latest membership, IATA now has 274 members from 117 countries across the globe. --Bernama
