Malaysia's international reserves has amounted to RM408.5 billion, equivalent to USD95.1 billion as at 15 January 2016, said Bank Negara Malaysia on Friday.

In a statement, Bank Negara said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.5 months of retained imports and are 1.1 times the short-term external debt.

The latest amount is lower compared to the RM409.1 billion, equivalent to USD95.3 billion as at 31 December 2015.

Malaysia’s international reserves are expected to be supported by trade and investment inflows in 2016.
