AirAsia X Bhd has signed a charter pact with Indonesian low-cost carrier, Indonesia AirAsia (IAA), to provide twenty four return flights between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, AirAsia X said the deal was to promote the Kuala Lumpur (KL)–Jeddah route to Indonesian passengers via CGK–KUL charter with IAA and to generate positive returns for it.

AirAsia X said the flights totalled 8,640 seats as a dedicated fly-through connectivity with the company's current KL–Jeddah–KL operations.

"The charter between commences today and will expire on Feb 29, 2016 or at the end of the extension period as may be agreed by both parties," it said.
