It was certainly a na-na-na-na-na-na of an event when 542 people turned up at a park in Calgary, Canada on Friday.

The employees of oil and gas firm Nexen dressed up as the favourite superhero to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Batman in one place.

The idea was part of the employees’ annual fundraising campaign for the charity United Way, with the theme "From Suits to Superheroes."

It was certainly a celebration of all things 'Dark Knight'.

This is not the first time the company got up close and personal with superheroes.

Last year the company was paid a visit by Marvel and DC comics in support of their United Way fundraiser.
