American TV reality show Survivor will begin shooting its next two seasons in Cambodia's tropical island resort of Koh Rong from March to July.

Preah Sihanouk provincial governor Chhit Sokhon told Xinhua news agency on Thursday the show's crew members have started preparing scenes and installing equipment on the island off the coast of the province.

The show debuted in 2000 and premiered its 30th season on Wednesday in the United States.

With recent seasons topping 13 million viewers, Chhit said the filming of 'Survivor' in Cambodia will help boost foreign tourist arrivals to Cambodia's coastal areas.

Preah Sihanouk tourism chief Nou Sophal said the show's two new seasons will be shown on Cambodian television CTN.

"This is a huge promotion of Cambodia's tourism potential to foreigners," he said.

The show's current series is being filmed in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
