The opinions given by several Indonesian flight experts in connection to the AirAsia flight QZ8501 mishap has been characterised as unfounded by AirAsia senior pilot, Dwi Harso Syah.

Dwi said the opinion given could cause fear of flying among the public, reported detik.com.

Commenting further, he said the opinion given by an expert stating that the cumulonimbus clouds was seen as an enemy in the aviation sector, was disputable.

“Their comments could create paranoia. The cumulonimbus clouds for instance, is said to be an unavoidable disaster. The cumulonimbus clouds in reality is an ‘aviation friend’.

“The cumulonimbus clouds is not an enemy which could not be overcome. It is always there. When I listen to the experts, I myself become frightened.

“As an experienced pilot, I have flown many times during typhoon and could overcome it well,” explained Dwi who has been a pilot for 31 years.

Dwi who comes from Solo was met by reportersduring the funeral ceremony of QZ8501 steward, Wismoyo Ari Prambudi in Klaten.

Dwi himself admitted receiving many messages on fears of flying since the QZ8501 incident.

“This matter could disturb the aviation world. The flight used is not any flight. It is a sophisticated flight!

“We have even landed without wheels and it was not made public.

“Experts and analysts are urged to stop making simulation images using toy planes showing frightening effects when a plane enters the cumulonimbus clouds,” stressed Dwi.
