City folks can watch the live telecast of the ceremony to honour the victims of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH17 tragedy on a large screen at Dataran Merdeka tomorrow.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said, besides Dataran Merdeka, a large screen would also be set up for the same purpose at the City Hall building in Jalan Raja Laut.

"The large screens are put up to enable the city folks to follow the ceremony on the arrival of the remains and the respect given by the government," he told reporters after a programme for city folks and tourists to honour
victims of MH17 at Jalan Raja Laut, here today.

He said city folks could also honour victims of MH17 by expressing their feelings and thoughts on 28 panels which had been erected in the city area for the purpose.

"About 30,000 people have signed, as well as wrote condolences, on the panels, as well as encouraging words for MAS," he added.

The remains of 20 of the victims of the tragedy are scheduled to arrive at the KL International Airport at about 10am tomorrow. Forty-three Malaysians died in the tragedy.

Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country.

Besides the Malaysians, nationals from the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were also on board the ill-fated aircraft.
