Legoland Malaysia Resort has invested more than RM6 million in its new attraction, the Lego Star Wars Miniland Model Display, which is the biggest development at Legoland Malaysia this year.

This is the first attraction of its kind in Asia and the latest Lego model display to open at a Legoland around the world.

"As a catalyst project in Iskandar, Legoland Malaysia is continuously looking to grow stronger tourism value and attract more international visitors," said Legoland Malaysia General Manager Mark Germyn in a statement today.

The Lego Star Wars Miniland Model Display was launched during Legoland Malaysia's second birthday on Sept 15, 2014.

The Lego Star Wars Miniland Model Display, housed in an octagon building featuring seven scenes from the six Star Wars films and The Clone Wars animated series, features more than 2,000 LEGO models built to a 1:20 scale using 1.5 million Lego bricks.

Meanwhile, Secretary General, Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia Datuk Dr Ong Hong Peng said Legoland Malaysia has always been committed in supporting the National Key Economic Area Tourism Initiative and was a game changer under the strategic thrust of family fun.

"Since its opening two years ago, Legoland Malaysia has contributed significantly to Johor Bahru’s position as a tourist destination," he said at the launch of Lego Star Wars Miniland Model Display.
