As the guessing game on "When the 2013 general election will be held?" continues, many observers, including analysts and media, are not discounting the possibilities of more state assemblies to be automatically dissolved.

On Thursday, the Negeri Sembilan state legislative assembly became the first in the country to be automatically disbanded after the 2008 general election. This means, Negeri Sembilan state government will function in caretaker role.

After Negeri Sembilan, the next state legislative assembly that would be automatically disbanded (if there was no dissolution) is the Pahang state assembly. This will be followed by Johor and Selangor, which could be automatically dissolved in about three weeks.

The law says that a state assembly would continue for five years from the day of the first meeting, unless dissolved sooner.
