AirAsia’s boss Tan Sri Tony Fernandes today reached out to his travelers with a personal e-mail thanking for their support during the difficult time the airline is facing following the crash of flight QZ8501.

In the mass e-mail sent to AirAsia users, Tony said the past few weeks have been the most difficult ones of his life, since the beginning of AirAsia 13 years ago.

“I wanted to reach out and thank you for the warmth and support given to all of us. Your messages of love and encouragement strengthen our resolve to be better. We will continue to provide updates as the investigation goes on,” the e-mail wrote.

“Rest assured, we are committed to reviewing and improving our products and services. We are more focused than ever to provide you with nothing but the best,” he said.

“Even in our toughest times, we will continue to be the world's best and be better for you,” he added.

Flight QZ8501, carrying 162 passengers and crew, crashed in the Java Sea on Dec 28.

Meanwhile, Twitter users who received the e-mail said they were touched with the gesture.
